Day 2 - Journey to the Palisades

So, there I was in the middle of the palisades ready to start my day right by hiking Temescal Canyon.

Only thing was my obsession with working and calling sponsors quickly took that hiking notion out of my mind.

Immediately...I shot myself over to Starbucks in the Palisades. Upon entrance I was startled by the difference in crowds from Hollywood to the Palisades. I had gone trendy and flashy Hollywood to a suburbia retirement community. Demographics aside, I went away to work to tether my iphone's internet to my laptop to maximize remote working possibilities.

After hours of failures I got it working, and I got a video recording device in addition to my struggles on my iphone.

Yes! Video-blogging!

I jumped my way over to another Starbucks closer to Santa Monica, and I started on my list of calling donors. Only thing was I got side tracked by the massive amount of time that would require me to prepare my donor call list.

I NEEDED HELP!

Just then...I receive a call from Dustin from Camden Media Agency with Nicole Landers a pioneer in sustainable media.
The call ended up with a spark of radiant light that distracted me from making any more calls.

Off to meet Brad my co-spirer with the Excursion Club at the Green Networking Business Event. Two feet in the door landed us to the conclusion that our money would be better spent discussing future plans over a salad buffet.

So...next...I used this food meeting to share with Brad my calls for help, and see if he saw a spot in it for him.
We fired off ideas of using the green networking events as opportunities to share with other Excursion Club members, including our upcoming tree planting event.

The buffet was a success!
Day 2 down.

Day 1

I woke up trying to get the last bits of sleep before heading on the road to start my journey. It was the day after Easter and two days after the redwood run which I now could feel in my thighs.

Easter was a joyous celebration of hordes of good food and family joining. Although my emotional age of 13 didn't make socializing that easy with my family.

You see as a 13 year old child I was anything from a charismatic magnet of joy. No I was more like a rebellious dark stain on your clothes.

And now I was getting pushed into the car to travel down south and give my cousin, Samantha a ride to LA. I still needed to figure out where I was going to stay for the night!

I didn't mind the company, and most of the way down we just listened peacefully to soundtrack music.

I tend to go for the songs with no lyrics...its easier that way. Then I can spend more brain power thinking...I love to think.

On the ride down, I spoke to Jess Block, our amazing publicist from Felten Media Services working on behalf for JuntoVenture's Bolivia EcoVenture. Jess informed that I was booked to work alongside the mayor of Los Angeles to plant trees on Saturday.

Yes!

Jess suggested getting other people involved that's where the idea of extending it to the Excursion Club members arose. This would be a perfect project for them. The email was going out...

How this started...

So, there I was sitting in Dr. Ian Mussman's office, awaiting to be tested with the Discovery System.

Dr. Mussman is my naturopathic doctor that uses a machine called, the Discovery system, to detect physical and mental blocks inside of me that might be creating my illnesses, mood swings, cravings, sleeping conditions, etc and also uses the machine to help raise my awareness of life.

Over the previous two weeks prior to our visit, I had been experiencing a major case of an Egotrip. Anything someone might suggest or utter ticked the living green gremlin out of me. My patience was at an all time low, and my appreciation was non existent. What was happening to me!

The tests revealed that my Ego increased to 43%, Self Love dropped to 1%, Charisma dropped to 1%, and my emotional age was 13. No wonder...I was reacting so immaturely?

A week before, I asked this amazing high conscious woman, Karunamayi to clear my Karma, and well she cleared it by 25%, so all this old energy being released explained the crazy test scores.

The doctor's cure was to listen to the trees since I have heavy karma towards plants, trees, and earth.

So, over the weekend, I went on an amazing run through ancient redwoods and discovered what he meant by listening, just being. It was in that moment of being with the trees that I realized that my journey did not need to begin once I left for Bolivia on June 8th, it could start now.

And so, I will now be documenting the 55 days before my departure to Bolivia, jotting down my experience of creating this earth-inspiring multimedia project. You'll get the brutal facts on failures, successes of making something from nothing. You'll see my search down all things green in LA (eco-salon, eco-hotel, eco-storage units, eco-companies, eco-restaurants, eco-events) to see how I keep on my green while i'm creating a project about green.

Much Gratitude to:

Karunamayi
